Design Process

Initial Meeting
I will come to your home for a complimentary design consultation. At this time I will take measurements, digital photos, and ask a series of questions about your lifestyle. Many of these questions are contained in our design survey. Taking time to print it out and review the questions will make our time together more productive.
Plan 2 hours for this meeting.

Design Review Meeting
For this meeting we will meet at one of several showroom locations. I will present one or more design options showing you plans, elevations, and perspectives for your space. We will then look at cabinetry, countertop, and accessory selections based on more than one investment scenario. At this time we will be ready to enter into the revision process.
Plan 3 hours for this meeting.

Revision Process
Meeting again in the showroom, we will go over the revisions as we discussed at the last meeting and I will have some firm pricing based on the investment scenarios we discussed. At this time we will enter into a preliminary agreement confirming the scope of work and schedule. You will be able to take the design plans, elevations, and perspectives with you at this time. We will meet one or four more times as necessary for further revisions until we are ready for final review.
Plan 2 hours for each of these meetings.

Final Review
It is my intention that you understand what your finished kitchen will look and feel like down to the last detail. To that end, the final review is extensive. We will be confirming all cabinetry, countertop, accessory, and labor as included in the scope of the work. All materials will be ordered after this meeting and installation will be scheduled.
Plan 2 hours for this meeting.

Installation
In the time between final review and the cabinetry arriving, I will devise an installation schedule and coordinate all aspects of the job. Installation can be a messy job and things will get uglier before they get prettier. Rooms other than the kitchen will serve as a staging area for cabinetry. During the installation, I will be on site periodically to oversee the work being performed. You can expect to touch base with me on a daily basis to review progress and answer any concerns or questions that may arise.

Punch List
This is the stage of quality control. Invariably, there will be items that need correction. A door may have a ding or a molding may have come in broken. Part of the schedule will allow for the installer to make a return trip three to four weeks after the major completion of your kitchen to make these minor repairs, adjustments or replacements, as necessary.
