As an independent design firm, Hearthstone Kitchen Design LLC leaves behind typical constraints and boundaries. Because owner/designer Shelby O'Donnell does not have to staff a showroom all day, she can make herself available to meet clients at the times most convenient for them whether that be during the day, in the evening, or on weekends. Shelby's main business line is her cell phone which means she is always readily available.
Not having a single showroom means impartiality. Shelby is able to recommend the products that fit her clients' needs rather than those she must endorse due to a large investment in a specific brands display or a contract with a manufacturer. Hearthstone Kitchen design also passes on its lower overhead to its clients with highly competitive pricing.
Shelby's passion for her job stems from the belief that she can help improve the way people relate to each other. The kitchen is a common gathering area for family and friends. A proper design for a persons' lifestyle can encourage family to relate more frequently and pleasantly and can become the impetus for having friends over more often.
In her undergraduate career, Shelby studied the creative process. She enters areas with a fresh eye, enjoying challenges. She has been designing kitchens in New Hampshire for five years and is dedicated to furthering her education through course work with the NKBA (National Kitchen and Bath Association).
Courses she has taken include Kitchen and Bath Krafter, Theme Design, Lighting for Residential Interiors, and Green Fusion (a Master Class Conference on Green Design). She has also visited several manufacturing facilities and enjoys taking part in the installation process whenever possible.
